The road safety is the main problem of the most of the Europeans countries. The percent of people, who have died in road accidents is very big and that is why we have to prevent this. For this aim it’s very important to change not only the traffic regulations, but also the conscience of the drivers. Most important for this changing is to start with the young people and young drivers.
The principal aim of this exchange was to persuade young people in the responsibility of being a driver. To sit behind a wheel means to take all the responsibility of what you do on the road. That means: not to use alcohol, drugs, not to exceed the speed limit, to use the seat belt and to oblige everybody in your car to use it and etc.
The main idea of this project was to show which the right behavior on the road is. Also, to teach the youngsters how important is to grasp the seriousness of this theme, because one day it may depend on them to save a human life!
The activities of the project were mostly based on the road security. There were found 4 multicultural “ateliers” with different tasks, but united under the theme of the road safety. The “ateliers” were the following: radio, movie, design Photoshop and web blog. At the end of the project each group had to present its work. Radio: a real radio studio, presented by the young participants of the project. Movie: 2 short movies (the actors were the young participants): how to prevent the use of alcohol behind a wheel. Design Photoshop: an advertising company- a poster, created by the youngsters. Blog: the idea of the blog was to give the opportunity of every participant to share his/her opinion about the project and the activities
This was an intercultural event, so there were also the ice-breaking games, the intercultural evenings with traditional cuisine, dances and music. Every participant had the opportunity to talk with the others and get to know them, their culture, their beliefs and interests. We depended largely on the communication in all its forms (verbal and non-verbal) between all the participants in the project.
The main goals and expectations that we had about this project were achieved. We learned a lot of each other, of ours countries, traditions, cultures, cuisine, music and dances. We learned a lot about the European road politics and also about the situation in each country, part of the project. We draw on the experience of every country and now we feel most sure to implement it in our countries.
