Reguengos de Monsaraz, rich in history, wine production, and nearby has the European biggest artificial lake, is placed in south - inland area of Portugal. The City Hall would like to give the opportunity for our young musicians to enlarge the knowledge about the European music diversity and the European awareness.
The subject of this exchange was the music diversity in the European Union, such as the different styles of music, methods and schools. With this subject we had to improve the importance of the music as an instrument to express our culture, as a good communication link between different generations and countries and to prevent social exclusion. Also by music we expect to achieve the European awareness.
For a long time we planned to use the music as a main tool in our projects. This was the first real possibility for us to participate in a musical workshops and it went good. Our Project Coordinator – Elitza assembled the whole team together. Our group represented people from our region and it was really great that we gave them the opportunity to travel and meet with other young musicians.
Many thanks to Elitza for all her efforts and dedication!
The project had a success, thanks to the dedication of all the participants and to their musical skills. It was a great idea to mix the different styles of music and dance and the final result was really positive one. The project program was changed by the organizers without our knowledge so there were activities that previously we didn’t have. The activities were well organized, but there were misunderstandings between the project coordinator - Ana and the rest of the people involved in the project. It was good that at the end we manage to overcome our differences in the name of the project. After all , the idea was to cooperate together and that is what we did. We made several recordings so now we have our first musical work completed. We hope that in the future we will have the possibility to make new projects where we can use the music as a tool once again.
