Project “Eyes in Space”

         This is the first project we want to dedicate to the theme of astronomy. We will develop connections with the Bulgarian Space Institute in the developing of this endeavor. The idea is to buy a very good telescope and to give a chance to the members of the association and to all young people who have interests in the field of astronomy to take their first real look of the sky. We are planning to develop a whole program of activities and to invite and work with professional astronomers. The goal are very clear – to teach the young participants of the importance of astronomy as a science and to gain their attention to it. We believe we will make a wise planning and we expect to have some REAL results. We are putting all our efforts in those activities. This will be only the beginning of our space exploration efforts. We have decided to pursue our dreams and to work hard so that we can hope for some good results at the end. The endeavor will be financed by us and all the work we will do will be a voluntary effort.

         The project must begin in March of 2008 and it will continue for a period of about six months. Then we plan to make a review of the program and we will decide whether we will make some changes in the activities.

         The activities will involve:

1.          Making the program of activities and taking into account all the details
2.          Talking with professional astronomers and members of the Bulgarian Space Institute
3.          Finding all the necessary literature and making financial planning
4.          Making a list of all the participants
5.          Developing and updating special web pages dedicated to the project and its activities
6.          Finding partner organizations and friends from all over the world
7.          Organizing travels to find the best locations for a sky watching

PS: During the organizational period we will make much more precise planning and timeframe.

We expect at least 10 – 15 participants to take part in the first stage of the project
